PENERAPAN MODEL HEC-RAS DALAM UPAYA PENGENDALIAN BANJIR SUNGAI SAMPEAN

Abstract
River is one of the important things for human life. Which the real flow over bank capacity on river the flows spill. In order that, protecting by flood hazard is well method for safety. One of the principles within connect it namely suggesting the huge of flood routine happens and it’s popularly with flood routing. The objective of this research is to attempts to study the flood behavior of Sampean river from Sampean Baru Dam until Sampean Lama Dam. The study also carried out for this purpose included investigation of the capacity of Sampean river to control flood. The simulation was conducted using HEC-RAS model (Hydrological Engineering Corps – River Analysis System) developed by US Army Corp of Engineer. It is derived base on one dimensional unsteady flow equations. The data input to the model consists of geometry river data and hydrological data. The calibration of the model is using field data of 22-23 November 2000 periods. The result of simulation has good performance after verification with the data of 17-18 February 2001 periods. It shows that this model is powerful to study flood behavior. The results of the study show that Sampean River dike capable to store maximum of 25 years return period of flood discharge without overtopping exist, otherwise of 50 years return period of flood discharge with overtopping exist.
